About the Festival
Cheltenham Literature Festival is the world’s first literature Festival, leading the way in celebrating the written and spoken word, presenting the best new voices in fiction and poetry alongside literary greats and high-profile speakers.
What's On
This year we celebrated the best of literary names and the most talked about emerging authors at The Times and Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival 2023.
The likes of Brian Cox, Jojo Moyes, Elizabeth Day, Charlie Mackesy, Sadiq Khan, Liv Little, David Mitchell, Heather Morris, Tim Peake, Clive Myrie, Yomi Adegoke and so many more joined us for 10 incredible days.
Literature for Schools
At the 2023 Cheltenham Literature Festival around 12,000 school children joined us in the Festival Village for a wide range of engaging events and activities - the most we've ever had on site at the Festival.
We had a fantastic programme of authors, illustrators and poets including Rob Biddulph, Benji Davies, Anna James, Jamie Littler, Michael Rosen, Varsha Shah, Thomas Taylor and Kate Wakeling.
Director's Welcome
"For book lovers everywhere, The Times and Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival is the only place to be each autumn, welcoming the world’s greatest writers and thinkers to Cheltenham."
